THE DEVELOPMENT OF PORTOFOLIO ASSESSMENT -BASED PARENTS PARTICIPATION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Abstract

There are some problems in education. One of them the parent‘s participation in education is not optimal; it is causing the children eager to study. Less communication of parents cause of many problems give impact to the children‘s learning process. Parents less communicate with their children due to their other business particularly their taskss results in a lack of parents‘ participation in education. The goal of their research is to describe the feasibility and appropriateness of the use of portofolio assessment based parents‘ participation in teaching and learning process. Their research was conducted by design research and development with Four-D model. The data was collected by using observation sheet and questionnaire, then the data was analysed by quantitative and qualitative. The result of their research showed that portofolio assessment based parents‘ participation is appropriate to be implemented in teaching and learning process.
